Okra drying on a plastic sack for
storage.  Two plastic kettles filled with
water used for cleaning your hands
and, showering,  flushing the toilet and
other water needs.  In the rural home,
each 'room' has it's own structure.
The kitchen is one hut, the sitting room
is another, food storage has its own as
does the bedroom, etc.  So this is one
persons home complex even though it
looks like a village.
Women carrying their produce to the market
early Tuesday morning.  They could be
coming from a neighboring village, about 7
kilometers away.
Want to make a phone call in a village with no
electricity?  Visit Soloman who has a phone
connected to a small solar panel outside the
window.  He'll dial the number with all the
necessary codes and then begin the timer.  It
costs about 25 cents per minute.  Twenty-five
cents can buy you a 15 minute taxi ride in the
capital city so the cost is quite high.
